Pip Nash

I am an experienced set and costume designer, specialising in devised theatre, new writing, and design for site specific and outdoor spaces.

As a lecturer and workshop leader, I aim to facilitate creativity through the exploration of materials, objects, story and place within performance.

I enjoy making work with professional and non professional theatre makers alike, inspired by theatre that is inclusive and explores new ways of working.

Companies I have created designs for include The Royal Court Theatre, London Bubble, Soho Theatre, Cardboard Citizens, The Dukes Playhouse Lancaster (Head of Design), York Theatre Royal, Cheltenham Everyman, M6 Theatre, Immediate Theatre, Common Stock (Resident Designer), Theatre Powys, Pentabus, Ludus Dance and Garden Opera.

Workshops and Teaching

I am a Senior Lecturer in Scenography at Rose Bruford College where my practice includes initiating and leading projects within the academic environment with students of design, performance and theatre for young audiences. I have also lectured at Central School of Speech and Drama, London College of Fashion and Buckinghamshire Chilterns University. I have led design projects at companies including London Bubble, where I have developed the practice of exploring design ideas as part of the devising process.

Internationally I have led workshops at Bucharest University, DAMU Prague and at the Moscow Festival of Youth and Students. I have also co produced student performances for the Prague Quadrennial, and Parque de las Ciencias in Granada.
